As the humanitarian sector continues to develop, the expertise of our Humanitarian Academy for Development (HAD) has been more in demand than ever. In 2022, HAD trained more than 200 humanitarians across six countries, equipping staff at Islamic Relief and other non-governmental organisations (NGOs) with the knowledge and skills to deliver even more positive impact for the vulnerable people we serve.<\/p>\n

In the Occupied Palestinian Territory, we trained humanitarians working for a variety of organisations in proposal and report writing, helping them to improve the efficacy of their writing and better defend their proposals. As a result of the training, several participants later secured funding for their proposals.<\/p>\n

In Sudan, we also supported humanitarians in report writing, while in Iraq, our work included delivering advocacy training to the staff of an international NGO, as well as strategic planning training.<\/p>\n

Tazhan, who works for the National Mine Action Authority (NMAA), in Iraq, says our training in report writing helped to strengthen her problem solving skills, and will put her in a good position to meet her goal of becoming a project manager.<\/p>\n

HAD also facilitated internships through the UK government\u2019s Kickstart scheme, which aims to help young people into employment, with several interns going on to work at HAD or elsewhere in Islamic Relief.<\/p>\n<\/div>
